Unlocking AI's full potential
A new brand and an AI-made national campaign, launched around CoreWeave's Nasdaq IPO.
Director, Client Services · led the client relationship
Hello, I'm Jon Freshwater.
Twenty years owning Fortune 500 relationships for Nike and Jordan Brand, IBM, Visa and Google. I lead the teams that make the work, set up the systems that keep it on budget, and build my own tools to take the busywork out.
Total portfolio I was responsible for, across 25+ accounts, with a team of 10.
$1.5M to $6.75M in one year. Portfolio growth across IBM, iFIT and others, at a 47% gross margin.
2,000+ designers worldwide work from the IBM Watson guidelines my team built.
Cannes Gold, One Show Gold, Grand Clio, LIA Gold, Andy Gold for The Last Shot alone.
On each of these I owned the client relationship and led the team that did the work: strategy, creative, production and technology.

LinkedIn ↗Launching Tiger Woods' own brand, built with TaylorMade around the red shirt he wears on Sundays.
After decades at the top of golf, Tiger Woods wanted a brand that was his own. The job was to introduce Sun Day Red to a global audience and turn the buzz around the launch into demand on day one.
Every golf fan knows Tiger's Sunday red, and every competitor feared it. So we built the brand on it: the red shirt as a mindset, standing for his work ethic and his obsession with winning.
The name nods to Tiger's rule of threes, and red runs through the identity, the product and the films.
I led the program for AKQA: owning the relationship with Tiger's team and TaylorMade, and running the strategy, design, film and technology teams through launch.

Next projectThe Last ShotView ↗An LED half-court that put fans inside three of Michael Jordan's defining moments, for Jordan Brand's 30th anniversary.

Celebrate 30 years of Jordan Brand at NBA All-Star Weekend in New York, in a way fans would remember and want to share.
Let people take the shot themselves. We built an interactive LED half-court that transformed around each player, restaging Michael Jordan's iconic game-winners with historic NBA and NCAA court designs and era-true crowds.
The event featured DJ Khaled, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook, and the court went on to tour Paris, Shanghai and Dubai.
I led the Jordan Brand account for AKQA and produced the activation through to the live event.

Next projectMuseum of the UnseenView ↗An interactive museum inside IBM Watson's Munich headquarters that shows visiting leaders the Internet of Things technology hidden in the building around them.

IBM's Munich headquarters is a smart building, packed with IoT technology that nobody can see. The brief was to reveal it to the industry leaders who visit, and show them what IoT could do for their own businesses.
A museum for things you can't see. Each exhibit makes an invisible system visible, so visitors experience how the building senses and responds to them instead of just hearing about it.
I led the project for AKQA: directing the creative, overseeing production with local developers in Munich, and managing the launch.
Industry leaders experience it every day

Next projectIBM WatsonView ↗A global design language for IBM Watson that explains AI simply, and a Brand Experience Guide that puts it in the hands of 2,000+ designers, marketers and agencies.
Watson was famous, but it didn't speak with one voice. Teams around the world were explaining complex AI in different ways, and the brand looked different everywhere it showed up.
Simplicity and consistency build connection. Explaining AI takes exceptional communication, so the system had to make complex ideas feel clear.
Give abstract AI concepts a visual language: data shown as dots, intelligence shown as color. Built on IBM's existing design foundation, one system now runs across data visualization, motion, photography, product interfaces, illustration and print.
I led the relationship with IBM and the AKQA team that built the system and the guide.

Next projectPlanetary Health ClubView ↗Health clubs are for the few. We opened one for all 8.3 billion of us: a free, satirical wellness club on East 40th Street showing how closely the planet's health and our own are tied together.

New York is full of luxury health clubs selling botox, cryotherapy and treatments most people can't afford. We borrowed the format and flipped it. The Planetary Health Club was free, open to everyone, and every "treatment" pointed back to the health of the planet.
The joke lands first. The science follows.
Brand ambassadors in custom scrubs carrying the Planetary Health Check symbol guided visitors through the club. Subject matter experts in custom lab coats explained the science behind every message.

Visitors arrived at a juice bar selling hidden environmental risks as wellness products.

A dark, red-lit room kept uncomfortably warm, with a 60-second film. Sixty seconds, because every minute someone dies from heat-related causes.

iPad stations with the remedies: the Planetary Health Check 2026, live Climate TRACE pollution data and the partners doing the work. It ended with a letter to the UN.
Visitors signed Planetary Guardians' letter to the Presidents of the UN Security Council and General Assembly, asking for an annual Planetary Science and Security briefing and for nations to appoint Chief Planetary Scientists.
Every guest left with a Planetary Treatment Regimen printed on seed paper, pointing them to the Planetary Health Check, the Renewable Freedom report and the partners. Once read, it goes back in the ground and grows pollinator-friendly plants.
I owned the Planetary Guardians relationship for Studio. One and ran delivery from scope to opening day.

Next projectCoral GardenersView ↗A ground-up rebrand for Coral Gardeners, the reef restoration movement started by French Polynesian island kids. New vision, mission and values, a new identity, and a reset for the organization's next chapter.

Coral Gardeners started in 2017 when a group of island kids watched their home reef dying and decided to act. It had grown into an organization with a global following, labs and branches across the Pacific, but its brand still looked and sounded like the early days. The job was to define what the organization stands for now, and build a brand that could carry it into a new chapter.
Conservation is usually told as doom and gloom, led from boardrooms. Coral Gardeners is the opposite: surf bums, fish nerds, scientists and island kids, growing the reef back by hand.
So we built the brand on that: Power to the Gardeners. A rallying cry that says the solutions are in people's hands, and an invitation for anyone to become a gardener.
Punchy, inspiring, grounded and open. No guilt trips and no jargon, just lines a gardener would actually say: Plant what you preach. Beat the odds, coral by coral. Grow it all back.
The new symbol keeps the legacy coral logo but rebuilds it entirely from overlapping circles, so a coral structure emerges from a network of connected parts: the gardeners. The palette is deliberately restrained. Black and white let the ocean photography lead, with Rally Red for urgency and Pelagic Blue for depth.
I led the engagement for Studio. One, from the strategy work that reset the organization's foundation through the identity, guidelines and website.
We redesigned coralgardeners.org around the new platform. The homepage opens on the brand's own challenge, "The world will tell you it's too far gone," and every path leads to one action: adopt a coral and follow it back to the reef.

Next projectCoreWeaveView ↗A reimagined brand and a 360° campaign for the AI cloud platform, timed to its Nasdaq IPO, with the campaign imagery and TV spot made using AI.
CoreWeave builds the cloud that powers AI, which is hard to picture and easy to tune out. Going public put the company in front of a much wider audience, and it needed a brand that could explain why it matters.
To make people understand how exciting an AI platform can be, you have to humanize it. Show what it makes possible for people, not the servers behind it.
Prove it with the work itself. We rebuilt the brand foundation and wrote guidelines designed to inform AI models, so the system could generate on-brand assets at scale.
The campaign's image library was made entirely with AI, and the national TV spot was produced with AI video through WPP's Creative Portal and Google's Veo 2.
I led the CoreWeave relationship for AKQA as Director, Client Services, and ran the program across brand, campaign and launch.

Next projectiFIT × NordicTrackView ↗One social strategy for two fitness brands, NordicTrack's equipment and iFIT's training platform, across four channels. Every post treated as a performance.
Build one social strategy for two brands with different jobs: NordicTrack sells the equipment, iFIT powers the workouts on it. Each needed its own personality, and every post had to earn its place.
Fitness isn't a transaction, it's a transformation. People stay for purpose and connection, so the community around these brands needed culture, not just content.
To resonate, you have to move people. Every post was treated as a performance: entertaining, useful and emotional, cut to each platform's rhythm and each brand's voice.
iFIT's trainers are the reason people show up. We built original, trainer-led content around their personalities, so the feed felt like a class you wanted to join.
Brand campaign footage was remixed into platform-native posts, with behind-the-scenes cuts and vertical edits that matched each channel's rhythm.
We covered iFIT trainer Ashley Paulson's Great World Race in near real time. Our original TikTok drew 343K views, and a top creator's reaction to it reached 10.5M.
Social brought iFIT's destination workouts to life, including the Emmy-nominated series Everest: Trek to Basecamp.
Launch content for NordicTrack's Ultra 1 Treadmill, X24 series and Tour de France indoor bike, made to entertain first and sell second.
I led the iFIT and NordicTrack account for AKQA and the team behind the social program.

Next projectPagerDutyView ↗A new brand platform and campaign for PagerDuty, built for a market where AI is making every system faster, more complex and more likely to break.

Almost everyone in IT knows PagerDuty, but the product had outgrown how people saw it. The market still filed it under "on-call," while competitors told bigger stories about observability, automation and AI. The problem wasn't awareness. It was relevance.
AI is accelerating complexity, creating as much risk as capability. In that world, PagerDuty's oldest strength becomes its most valuable one: trust that systems will work when it matters.
Make Sure. Two words that say what PagerDuty does and what customers are really buying: confidence. Instead of chasing the AI narrative, the platform extends the trust PagerDuty already owns, from fixing incidents to preventing them.
It's built as a system, not a slogan. "Make Sure" leads and the second line flexes for every audience, from executives to developers.
"Make Sure" stays fixed. The second line changes to fit the channel, the audience and the moment.
We also built a campaign toolkit so PagerDuty's in-house team could roll "Make Sure" out across every channel themselves, keeping it consistent long after launch.
I led the engagement for Studio. One, from the research and strategy that defined the platform through production of the campaign.
